Data Center Connectivity & Resiliency

Make informed connectivity decisions before committing to a facility, carrier, or contract.

Caisson independently helps organizations evaluate data-center connectivity requirements and supplier options, source and contract for appropriate services, and coordinate implementation with the responsible providers and technical teams.

Connectivity links data centers, business locations, cloud platforms, carriers, and critical applications.

We help enterprise and technology teams compare practical options, understand dependencies, and make decisions grounded in business needs, cost, and continuity.

Start with an introductory 30-minute Technology Assessment conversation about the decision ahead. It is not a technical audit or written assessment; deeper advisory work is scoped separately.

When to involve Caisson

  • You are evaluating, entering, expanding, or migrating colocation or data-center services.
  • You need to connect facilities, business locations, cloud platforms, or a recovery environment.
  • An outage, capacity limit, renewal, or provider change has exposed a connectivity decision.
  • Your internal team or IT partner needs help comparing suppliers and coordinating commercial and delivery responsibilities.

Decisions we help clarify

Which services fit the workloads and locations? What could interrupt a critical connection? What will the complete solution cost? Who is responsible for each handoff, order, and acceptance step?

Caisson helps turn unclear requirements, uneven proposals, contract constraints, and installation dependencies into a documented comparison and an actionable next step.

Connectivity and interconnection options

Depending on the project, the evaluation may include:

Internet access. Dedicated internet access and IP transit for business locations and data-center environments. Explore business internet connectivity.

Private connections. Ethernet and data-center interconnect services linking facilities and critical locations. Explore private networking.

Cloud interconnection. Provider-delivered connections between facilities, networks, and cloud platforms, with attention to ports, handoffs, access paths, and charges. Explore cloud advisory.

Colocation connectivity. Carrier choices, cross-connect requirements, facility access, and commercial dependencies that affect a colocation decision.

Resilience and recovery. Alternate access paths, backup connectivity, and out-of-band management options for technical evaluation with the responsible specialists.

Two suppliers do not automatically provide physically diverse infrastructure. Separate services can share fiber, conduit, building entrances, equipment, or power. Physical diversity requires project-specific evidence and technical review.

Review connectivity resilience considerations.

How Caisson helps

1 Define the decision

Clarify the business event, locations, applications, timing, budget, outage tolerance, and decision process. Agree what Caisson, your team, providers, and technical specialists will each own.

2 Evaluate the options

Compare suitable providers, services, costs, and contract terms. Request resilience evidence and coordinate technical review. Make assumptions, unresolved risks, and delivery dependencies visible before a commitment.

3 Coordinate the transition

Support procurement and track provider commitments, installation milestones, and acceptance responsibilities. Continue with agreed supplier, renewal, and change reviews as your needs evolve.

Why engage Caisson

Founded in 2004, Caisson brings more than two decades of connectivity and technology-advisory experience to complex provider, contract, transition, and resiliency decisions.

Caisson connects the business decision with supplier evaluation, contracting, and long-term stewardship. We work alongside your team and existing specialists to compare tradeoffs and keep responsibilities clear.

Ways to work together

Project qualification

The initial Technology Assessment clarifies your decision and an appropriate next step. It is an advisory conversation, without a technical audit or written report.

Learn what a Technology Assessment includes.

Scoped advisory assessment

For decisions needing deeper work, agree a paid scope covering requirements, feasible options, costs, contract considerations, and resilience evidence. The deliverables, specialist involvement, and fee are agreed before work begins.

Sourcing and ongoing coordination

With supplier relationships and availability confirmed, Caisson can support procurement, implementation coordination, and ongoing reviews. Responsibilities and compensation are explained for the engagement.

Scope and responsibilities

Caisson advises, sources, supports contracting, and coordinates implementation. Engineering, configuration, testing, and operations remain with the responsible provider, client team, MSP, or specialist under their respective scopes.

Caisson does not perform data-center construction, electrical or mechanical engineering, GPU infrastructure design, rack-level integration, or internal data-center network design. Serviceability, physical diversity, and delivery dates require project-specific verification; no uptime outcome is guaranteed.

Carrier-agnostic advice backed by specialized expertise

Caisson is not tied to a single carrier or provider. We help clients define requirements, qualify options across a broad portfolio of connectivity and technology suppliers, and compare serviceability, resiliency, cost, contract terms, support, and implementation considerations. When deeper technical validation is required, Caisson can bring specialized engineering resources into the evaluation.

Caisson may receive supplier compensation when clients procure services through us. Recommendations are based on client fit rather than allegiance to a single provider, and relevant commercial relationships are disclosed before engagement.

Discuss the decision ahead

Tell us what is changing, the locations or cloud platforms involved, and your timing. Existing clients can bring an expansion, renewal, migration, or resiliency concern. Referral and technical partners are welcome to introduce a defined client need.
